Position Overview
Methods Machine Tools seeks a highly skilled and experienced IT Manager to join our team in Sudbury, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, a hands-on approach to problem-solving, and a broad range of technical expertise. This role is responsible for overseeing business systems, network administration, and IT infrastructure to ensure seamless and efficient operations across the organization,
Reporting to the Senior Director of IT, the IT Manager will work closely with functional department heads to define and implement IT strategies that support business objectives. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and strong leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
IT Systems Management
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the company’s computing systems.
- Provide hands-on technical support to resolve daily IT-related issues.
- Ensure employees have access to necessary technology tools, including reliable laptops, secure business applications, mobile devices, and tablets.
- Responsible for maintaining infrastructure, software, and connectivity to satellite offices.
- Ensure users in offices have what they need to succeed.
- Administer and manage software licenses for cloud and on-premises applications.
- Oversee telecom relationships and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Manage Microsoft business environments, including Office 365, Azure, and hybrid cloud/on-premises deployments.
Team Leadership & Vendor Management
- Directly manage, recruit, train, and mentor IT staff.
- Define job expectations and evaluate employee performance.
- Oversee and manage relationships with outsourced managed service providers.
Designing and Implementing Systems:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR and Finance, to develop IT policies and procedures.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of IT systems to support business functions.
- Enforce IT policies and procedures to align with business needs and industry standards.
- Manage and maintain internal and external SharePoint sites.
- Administer and optimize data lake resources (Snowflake).
- Oversee Power BI infrastructure, including workspace access and overall design.
Security and Compliance
- Manage IT security policies, audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Improve security posture and collaborate with vendors on security initiatives.
- Lead system implementation projects, ensuring scope, quality, timelines, and budget adherence.
- Serve as the liaison between the company and third-party vendors/consultants.
- Provide recommendations for IT system enhancements and improvements.

- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or similar work experience
- 5 – 10 years hands-on experience working in an IT department, preferable in a manufacturing, procurement, or logistics environment
- Prior work experience in a Manufacturing, procurement, logistics type operation
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong programming skills in VB.Net, C#, and T-SQL.
- Expertise in database management, including SQL Server, SSRS, and SSAS
- Experience with CRM and service tools integration.
- Solid understanding of network administration and IT architecture.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
- Prior leadership experience is a plus.
