POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Dealer Development will play a crucial role in managing current dealers and distributors to maximize their selling capacity while recruiting new dealers to optimize geographic coverage. You will cultivate and expand relationships to maximize customer retention and expansion opportunities. Your contributions will drive sales attainment, value realization, and cross-selling initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and close business across a set of target distributors nationally
  • Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands our customer base to exceed annual and quarterly sales targets
  • Generate revenue by implementing effective sales strategies.
  • Identify, recruit and onboard new dealers to meet strategic growth plans.
  • Develop and implement continuing education opportunities for dealers ensuring proficiency in sales and service to maintain the strong Method’s brand name
  • Follow established sales processes and procedures, including creating and maintaining monthly/quarterly sales forecasts and ensuring excellent CRM hygiene.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product management, and other departments to ensure effective execution of channel sales initiatives and programs.
  • Cultivate strong relationships to deliver exceptional customer experiences
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance dealer satisfaction, streamline processes, and increase operational efficiency.
  •  Set clear expectations, KPIs and related metrics, to measure collaborative performance
  • Stay informed  about industry developments, emerging technologies, and market dynamics to anticipate market changes and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

preferred Qualifications

A minimum of 10 years of experience selling industrial equipment and/or services to distributors and/or dealers, with a preference for experience in the machine tool industry

  • Proven success in managing distributors to achieve sales quotas
  • Strong solution-selling skills and the ability to construct compelling proposals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support effective decision-making
  • Proficiency in operating at the C-level within customer organizations
  • Exceptional organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership abilities with demonstrated experience in building, motivating, and managing high-performing sales teams.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute complex sales strategies in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
