POSITION OVERVIEW
Methods Machine Tools has an immediate need for an experienced CNC Service Engineer to work in Massachusetts. This position will report to the Sudbury, MA office. The qualified candidate will be highly skilled and motivated to perform installations, preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs for customers within that territory. Travel and/or overnight is involved.

Preferred MECHANICAL Experience:
- Responsible for diagnosing and repairing milling & turning machines at the customers facility
- CNC control repair & electronics as well as mechanical systems
- Knowledge of automatic tool changers and pallet systems
- Ballscrew and axis support bearing replacement & alignment
- Spindle replacement and repairs
- Hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair
- Turret repair and alignment
- Must have a strong ability to read mechanical drawings and part prints
Preferred Electrical Experience:
- Troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems, including CNC controls and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Read and follow ladder and wiring diagrams to diagnose issues.
- Utilize tools such as digital multimeters, ohmmeters, and phase checkers for troubleshooting.
- Repair CNC controls, including Fanuc systems, and perform programming as needed.
preferred Qualifications
Applicant should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC field service and knowledge of Fanuc controls. CNC programming experience is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to stay calm and professional during stressful situations.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, with experience in CNC repair.
- Proficient in reading mechanical drawings, part prints, ladder diagrams, and wiring schematics.
- Experience using diagnostic tools, including multimeters and phase checkers.
phyiscal requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and crawling.
- Climb step ladders up to 8 feet.
- Drive daily to customer locations, with dependable transportation and a clean driving record required.
TRAVEL
- Day-trip travel is required, with occasional overnight hotels stays as necessary.
